Replacement
Executive Group members are required to finish their terms if mentally and physically possible, as any candidate will know. But should someone die, become mentally incapacitated, or for any other valid reason vacate their seat through one of the available Removal Paths, there is a procedure in place to refill that seat.
At the conclusion of the most recent General Election, the runner up will become the Alternate to the Executive Group. This person will be available for all meetings, votes, and interactions of the five Executive Group members so this Alternate is, at all times, current on all aspects of the nation.
They will also become familiar with the Special Projects of every current Executive Group member and may even help them, and in this way be able to step in should an Executive Member vacate their seat.
This Alternate may work on abbreviated versions of their own Special Projects so long as they are completed within the five years before the next General Election, should they not be needed to fulfill the role of Executive Group member. At no time as Alternate should they ever do any work specifically reserved for the Executive Group.
If the Alternate is needed to fulfill the role of an Executive Group member, they will take over the existing executive’s term and Special Projects, but will be considered the junior member of the group. The Special Projects of the Alternate will be secondary to the Special Projects of the executive role they are fulfilling.
At the point that the Alternate fills a seat in the Executive Group, the next runner up from the last General Election will immediately step into the role of Alternate. Should more than one seat be vacated due to Citizen impeachment, then this same process will be used to fill all open seats, with each new runner up filling the next seat of most seniority according to election placement, and where those new members will take on the terms and seniority of the seat they are filling. When filling multiple seats in this way, these runner up candidates will abandon the Special Projects they ran on and instead complete the Special Projects already started by the seat they are filling.
