The International Affairs Branch is in charge of maintaining relationships with foreign countries and entities. This Branch is special in that a three member Ambassador Unit represents the Liminal State to every nation, with each member serving 12 year terms, staggered every 4 years. The Branch Officials of the International Affairs Branch appoints the members of the Ambassador Units using Proportional Rank Choice Voting from among the qualified and willing candidates.
Candidates for an Ambassador Unit must have 8 years of experience within the Branch, including at least four years of relevant work specific to the nation they would be assigned to, and be 52 or younger at the start of their assignment.
The objective of these Ambassador Units is to serve the interests of the Citizens of the Liminal State via that relationship with the other state. These Ambassador Units function similar to Branch Officials, where the vote among them decides minor decisions, such as staffing requirements at the foreign embassies.
